INFINI RF Micro needling

*** Pricing based on size of area treated*****

Our skin is composed of three layers: the Epidermis, the Dermis and the Hypodermis, also referred to as subcutaneous tissue.  Below the surface layer of the skin, the Epidermis, lies the Dermis.  The Dermis contains cells called fibroblasts that create both collagen and elastin, two proteins that give our skin strength, firmness, as well as elasticity and form the extracellular matrix or environment of the dermis.   With age, we tend to produce less and less of these two proteins.  Environmental factors such as UV radiation from the sun can also degrade this matrix, leading to a lack of skin firmness and elasticity.

How Radio-frequency Micro needling Works:

RF micro needling is effective because it stimulates the fibroblasts of the Dermis to produce more collagen and elastin over time.  In essence, a RF micro needle passes through the epidermis and, using RF heat energy, creates a tiny, controlled injury site in the dermis. This controlled injury, in turn, causes the fibroblasts to produce more collagen and elastin in order to repair the dermal matrix or tissue.

The additional collagen and elastin produced in the repair process leads to the skin becoming increasingly firm and supple over time while healing.

The Lutronic INFINI is a Micro Needling Fractional Radio-frequency (RF) device that allows for precise dermal thermal coagulation (i.e., controlled injury using RF heat energy) with 49 insulated micro needles that can be set/calibrated for multiple different depths of dermal penetration.  Therefore, optimizing collagen and elastin production throughout the dermis.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

No preparation is needed.  However, it would be preferable to have removed your make-up before arriving at the clinic.  If not, we will clean and prepare your face prior to the procedure.  It is best to avoid alcohol and any non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication prior to treatment as both may contribute to bruising following the procedure.

How long is my appointment?

A typical appointment is about 2 hours in length.  An additional 20 minutes may be added on to the treatment time for an infused peptide mask.

Is a micro needling procedure painful?

Although pain sensitivity depends on the individual, most patients do not find the procedure painful.  An approximate rating is 3/10 on the pain scale.  A topical anaesthetic is applied to the treatment area prior to the procedure.

What is the recovery process?

Although full results won’t be visible for weeks following the procedure, actual healing time is minimal.  One can expect some redness and swelling for about 24 – 48 hours following the procedure.

Contraindications

Please inform the clinic if you are currently taking or have taken any blood-thinning medication as it may increase bleeding or bruising during and following the procedure.  Individuals experiencing chronic skin conditions may be contraindicated depending on the condition and severity of the skin condition.  Alcohol should also be avoided prior to treatment.  Individuals with a Pace maker cannot be treated with the INFINI.
